Macular Degeneration Research with Harvard
Dr. Ronald Siwoff was chosen as one of the clinical researchers providing patient data for "The Family Study of Macular Degeneration", conducted by Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
This study is looking into possible genetic links to Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). Patients eligible for this study must be 45 years of age or older, diagnosed with AMD, and have at least two living parents or siblings, with or without AMD, and willing to participate in the study.
The study is still going on. If you qualify, there is no cost to you or your family for the extensive exams and retinal photographs, and the information you will gain may be very helpful to all of you. For more information, contact our office by phone or e-mail. See contact information.
